Rail and maritime
On-board and shore-side power conversion governed by EN 50121 rail and marine EMC requirements.
Rail and maritime are the most demanding environments in terms of EMC compliance, and the converter is a primary source of emissions within the envelope.
Compliance is the specification
In these sectors, the EMC requirement effectively defines the product. Our DIS series converters are designed against EN 50121 alongside EN 62477, ECE-R10 and the relevant GB/T standards. When you specify a converter for rail or marine use, state the standard and its revision explicitly.
Test evidence
Ask for the test report that covers the specific part, not a company-level certificate that may predate the current model. This is routine in these sectors and a reasonable request.
Environmental stress
Vibration, salt spray, humidity cycling and extended temperature ranges are routine rather than exceptional. Where a project has unusual requirements, raise them at RFQ stage so the feasibility answer is real rather than optimistic.
Programme support
Both sectors involve long programmes with formal documentation requirements. We supply dimension drawings, test reports and specification sheets in English for this purpose. Engage early — late changes to a converter specification on a rail programme are expensive in both time and money.
Design points for this application
- EMC compliance effectively defines the product in these sectors
- Request test reports covering the specific part and current model
- Salt spray, vibration and temperature cycling are routine requirements
- Engage early — specification changes late in a programme are costly
Typical power band: Project specified
